Accessible Kauai was started in an effort to make your trip to Kauai a little more enjoyable if you are a disabled or wheelchair traveler. One of the things that makes Kauai so special is the lack of big city features but that also brings some accessibility issues. There are some spots where the sidewalk just ends or there is no sidewalk at all or maybe this business is not quite up to ADA standards yet. Those are some things to consider when coming to more rural Kauai but if you can deal with that then there are a lot of great things to enjoy here. To help, we try and cover such questions like: What kind of activities are available? What beaches can I drive to and see from the car? Will the placard from my home state work in Hawaii? What if I need medical supplies?
This site was created out of Aloha. If you find it helpful and would like to reciprocate,
Thank You in advance!

 | Check out the Kauai Ocean Recreation
Experience site. They are a wonderful group of volunteers who have a beach
day about once a month to help less able people get in the water and get
on a board. |
| Since we are specialized travel
site, there are some areas we don't cover or don't cover in their
entirety. We would highly recommend picking up the best tour book of Kauai
that we have found, the Ultimate Kauai Guidebook. We are not affiliated with them, just personally recommend. This is an outstanding guide book full of aerial photos and a wealth of information about every beach, restaurant,
hotel, activity and hidden spot. If you want to make the most of you
Kauai trip you MUST buy this book! |
